WEEK 1: Trying out the Goods

OK. Here it is.

Last Thursday was my first day at the "Nutrition Club" and of course day 1 is all about starting it right. I was given a program that I'm supposed to follow every day and stick to it. The idea is simple,
To be able to lose weight, you should take in less than what you burn.
This way your body will use its stored energy (fats) to be able to provide you the energy you need. Keep doing that and soon you'll be able to reach your goal.

This is how simple my meal plan is.

Breakfast/Merienda
Lunch/Dinner
F1 shake
(with non-fat milk or oats and banana)
Fruit
       (banana or apple)
1 cup white rice
Chicken/fish

Super simple and easy to follow. Plus the the shake, which comes in chocolate, vanilla, or berry, tastes good. Not like other health drinks other people have that are used in losing weight.

In the NC, we are also given a shot of Aloe for colon cleansing so we can absorb the nutrients better and a type of herbal tea that burns fat.

So, yesterday... DAY 6 I tried those machines in Mercury Drug that tells you stuff about your body, and guess what? I already lost 4 lbs!!!! in 6 DAYS! pretty cool right?

THE TRUTH ABOUT MY HEALTH

What I know is that I'm a ball of fluffiness, but by how much I don't know. During my previous physical exams, the doctor and I just normally look at each other and our eyes will say ALAM NA! (You know it!) when we're talking about weight management. And it's clear to me that I have to lose weight.

The good thing about the Nutrition Club is when they bring you in at first, they assess what you need. They don't just ask you to eat or not eat this and that's it. They tell you what your status is right now, and then they establish a goal for you. Much like what a trainer tells you on your first session in the gym. Then you get to work.

So here's mine.

THIS IS IT PANCIT!

So HI! I think it would be proper to introduce myself and why I am doing this.

I am KATH, currently a textbook editor and Physics graduate student... and (how do I put it nicely?), I AM FAT. hahahaha

I have never been a skinny bitch but since I am tall (well Asian-type tall), my weight is normally appropriate to my height growing up. Of course there would be some people joking about how big I am but every year when we go to our annual physical examination at school, I am always NORMAL.

So what happened?

I discovered the art of dining. Well, at first it was just the joy of eating at every restaurant I want. See, in college, I was a government scholar. Meaning, I was poor (still AM but not as much). This means every purchase is well budgeted and I'd rather spend money on photocopies (of books I can't afford) than on food. Don't get me wrong, I eat properly, I just don't spend much to eat... But when I started earning my own money, eating out became a habit, I'll have regular payday-pig out with my friends, dining dash with my boyfriend, and weekend feasts with my family. I spend more in food that in clothes, books, and other stuff. And I gained an average of 12 pounds a year. WELL, THAT WAS SIX YEARS AGO.

Proof? Here...

NOW
SO WHAT TO DO NOW...

I have always wanted to try on something to lose weight, but I never last. Or begin. Now, I have people from work who joined a "nutrition club" and I finally decided to be a member. Now, I want to write what we do there... and LET'S SEE WHAT HAPPENS. :)

Sooo... wish me luck! :)
